X-Factor stars created into pizzas 0

Posted on December 08, 2011 by Una

As we approach this weekend’s X-Factor final, here at Just-Eat we commissioned food artist Prudence Staite to create the Marcrust Collins, Little Mixican Hot, Hamelia and Pineapple Lily and Frankie Capricozza pizzas.

Just-Eat’s X-Factor conducted a poll of over 1,500 people during November, 28% believed Marcus Collins would win, with 27% for Little Mix, 22% Amelia Lily, 12% Misha B, 11% Janet Devlin (Janet was still present in the series at the time of the poll).

In 2010, Just-Eat’s poll correctly predicted Matt Cardle as the winner, Rebecca Ferguson as runner-up, One Direction in third and Cher Lloyd in fourth. Staite created the One Dough-rection and Mozz-Cher-rella pizzas to mark the final.

Irish Takeaway Industry 1

Posted on September 20, 2011 by EmerMcC

The takeaway industry is something which has never been researched before. However, we recently did the first major on online survey where over 1,000 takeaway users revealed their takeaway ordering habits.

Irish takeaway users are a generous bunch, 66% tip the delivery driver when they get their takeaway at their door and the average amount is €1.50 per order.

The online takeaway market is growing rapidly – over 300,000 people visit the JustEat.ie site every month and thousands of orders daily are generated through the site.

The research shows that there is a significant decrease in the number and frequency of Irish consumers eating out with people now ordering food to takeaway, a good value convenient alternative to eating out. Eating in is certainly the new going out! Restaurateurs and takeaway owners are responding to this by expanding their takeaway options and offering customers excellent quality and value.

What people are eating has also changed – gone are the days when a takeaway meant fish and chips. Consumers are increasingly ordering healthier alternatives such as Thai and JustEat.ie expects this surge in popularity to grow by 10% in 2011. There was also a significant increase in spicier Indian cuisine suggesting that people are becoming a bit more adventurous!

A quirky result the survey highlighted is that 2% of people in Ireland claim to enjoy a battered sausage every day!

What are you waiting for? Order a takeaway now from JustEat.ie.

€5 Feasts all over Dublin now! 0

Posted on July 07, 2011 by EmerMcC

Just like the title says the JustEat.ie €5 Feasts are all over Dublin for the month of July, a full list of participating restaurants/takeaways can we found by clicking here.

We are celebrating our 1st year anniversary of the €5 Feast promotion this month, can you believe that we have been doing this for a year? We can’t.

We receive so many emails requesting for the promotion to be made available in your town and we are doing our best to bring it to every town and city in Ireland. A lot of hard work goes into putting the €5 Feast promotion together as we have to hire additional staff, add the items to the menus, build a landing page etc as well as put a whole marketing plan in place. Of course the €5 Feast promotion would not happen unless we had the support of takeaway/restaurants owners on board to facilitate the promotion – so thank you much much owners for being involved.

Flattered

We have been very flattered over the past month or so as many companies has tried to copy our idea, but they will never be as good as our €5 Feasts. JustEat Ireland LTD was the first company in Ireland to offer consumers a €5 Feast!

Joe Duffy from RTE’s Live Line put together #FiverFriday for listeners and we’d like to think that he borrowed the idea from us.

The question that remains to be answered is where will we bring the €5 Feasts next?

Listen to our new radio ads starting on Dublin’s 98FM today!

€5 Feast is coming to Dublin later today 1

Posted on July 01, 2011 by EmerMcC

Later today JustEat.ie Ireland’s No.1 Online Food Ordering Website in Ireland (RedC Research 2011) is launching it’s first €5 Feast for Dublin City and County. Although JustEat would love every takeaway/restaurant to partake in the €5 Feast promotion we cannot force them to participate, we will release the list outlets taking part later today. Please be aware that we will be adding more €5 Feasts over the coming days and the list that you will see today is not final.

We would like to publicly thank Joe Duffy from RTE for his mention on Monday’s Live Line about our €5 Feast as it blends in very well with his Fiver Friday.

Finally keep an eye out for our posters, radio activity and *other* special marketing activity over the coming weeks. A special thank you from the Marketing Team goes to our new team of staff members for collecting the JustEat €5 Feasts over the past month and more importantly all the takeaway/restaurants for getting involved.
